Maiko paints ‘secret loopholes’—dreamy landscapes of winter wonderlands nostalgic of her childhood in Yamagata.

She studied oil painting at Joshiba University of Art and Design (Bachelor of Arts 2009 & Master of Arts 2011), and was a research student in oil painting techniques at Tokyo University of Art (2012). She has exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in Japan, and participated in art fairs in Seoul, Korea and Gent, Belgium (2012).
