Follen See

b. Malaysia
Lives and works nomadically

Sculpture

Growing up amid the lush rainforests and pristine beaches of tropical Malaysia, Follen was profoundly inspired by the natural beauty surrounding her. Her art, characterized by a raw yet vibrant and sunny aesthetic, reflects her deep love for nature and geology.

This passion fueled her relentless experimentation with natural ingredients, various types of clay, and pigments, resulting in unique marbling patterns that capture nature's magic. Her work isn't just about visuals; it's about the tactile experience. Follen aims to immerse her audience in the sensory "contrast" of mother nature through her creations, inviting them to feel and connect with the natural world in a deeply personal way.

Follen is currently living and working nomadically. She most recently completed residencies in Skagaströnd, Iceland (2023), and Jingdezhen, China (2024). Her work is held in the Permanent Collection of TaoXiChuan International Ceramic Center, China.
