Lives and works in Canada
Painting
Born on China's north coast and having lived in Thailand for five years before settling in Canada with her family, Wanru is a landscape painter influenced by the diverse cultures and landscapes she has experienced.
Wanru’s academic art training began at a young age under her dad's guidance. Painting for her acts as a vessel for treasured imagination, memories and emotions tied to the natural world. Through art, she is experimenting to build a bay of peace and introspection, reminding her of nature's soothing presence in an increasingly disconnected world.
She most recently completed the Sheep River Residency in Calgary, Canada (2024).
